VISITATION SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION

WE BELIEVE

It is our duty to celebrate, respect, and understand the diversity and dignity of all, addressing and confronting bias with bravery and purpose. As a school community, we seek to educate and promote reflection and positive growth for students, staff, and parents.

We will do the work and provide the resources to further our collective understanding of inequality, systemic biases, and actions we all can take to promote antiracism and inclusion of all, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual identity and orientation, socioeconomic background, or physical and neurological ability.

All humankind exists in community; it is our commitment and individual responsibility to ensure that all are safe and free to be themselves. And that our Visitation School students, staff, and parents are prepared and empowered to create positive change.

All humankind exists in community; it is our commitment and individual responsibility to ensure that all are safe and free to be themselves.

OUR GOALS

Further our collective understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.

Facilitate a continued conversation about allyship and acceptance, in our community and beyond.

Provide resources for learning and reflection, available and applicable for all students, faculty/staff, and parents.

Support and encourage inclusion of these principles in the Visitation School curriculum (including but not limited to: classroom activities and lessons, field trips and student experiences, faculty/staff additions)
